Jean Piaget

Swiss psychologist and epistemologist (1896–1980) who established genetic epistemology and transformed developmental psychology through his cognitive development theory. He talked about four stages: sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational. He showed how kids learn by assimilating, accommodating, and equilibrating. His work had a huge impact on child-centered education around the world, stressing discovery learning and readiness-based curricula.
